Saucers on Sunset
In August, 2005 I received a letter from Zory Zenith. There were some lyrics with the letter. Zory wrote about what he was doing on July 23, the night of our first show in Hollywood at the Knitting Factory (our first show back in L.A. after 25 years). While day dreaming & wishing he was there with us, he wrote these lyrics while eating a Milky Way candy bar, and to prove it, he sent me the candy bar wrapper attached to a blank page. When I picked up the guitar, without thinking, without even trying, it was like the song wrote itself.
Once upon a time four alien boys had visions of a brand new world
Sputnik spinning on the Blvd, loving all the Earthling girls!
Colors like candy with spacer flair helped the message along
Beamed to a canyon by boomerangs to build their songs
